Tracey Holmes

Five Summer Olympic Games, three Olympic Winter Games and a multitude of other international sporting events, from FIFA World Cups to Asian Games, are listed in Tracey’s portfolio of work. She is currently anchor and special events commentator for China Central Television, which is based in Beijing and broadcasts to 156 countries around the world. Prior to her current position, she reported for CNN International from the United Arab Emirates and had her own radio sports show on Dubai Eye FM. Tracey was the first female host of a national sports programme in Australia, the multi-award-winning Grandstand programme broadcast on the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation). Tracey is currently researching a PhD in the geopolitics of sport and is a former designer and co-ordinator of the Radio Sports Course for the Australian Film, Television and Radio School. Tracey lives in Beijing, China, and considers it a great honour to be involved in the first ever Winter Youth Olympic Games. ( holmes.tracey@ymail.com )​

Lucia Montanarella

Lucia Montanarella

With a degree in Italian Literature from the University of Rome, Lucia started her sports reporting career with the famous Italian national daily newspaper Il Tempo (1991 – 1997), while also reporting for national radio Radio Dimensione Suono (1996 – 1999). Her first Olympic assignment came with the Albertville Winter Olympic Games in 1992, where Il Tempo asked her to cover the Olympic experience of Italian skiing champion Alberto Tomba. She also covered the Barcelona 1992 and Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games. Lucia has held a number of media event positions, including international media officer at the 1998 World Equestrian Games, Rome, venue press manager (equestrian) at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, Communications Director for the Italian National Equestrian Federation (2000 – 2004), and Director of Media Operations for the 2002 World Equestrian Games, Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. In 2003 she was appointed Head of the Olympic News Service for the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games, receiving widespread praise by the international media as the “best ever” Olympic News Service. Lucia was appointed Press Chief for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games (2006 – 2010), becoming the first female Press Chief in Olympic history. Lucia lives in Varigotti, Italy. Nick Didlick

Nick Didlick

​from Vancouver, Canada, has spent his working life as a professional news and sport photographer, starting in 1979 with United Press Canada. In 1985 Nick joined Reuters, where he quickly made a name for himself, winning the Reuters Journalist of the Year prize in 1988, the first time the award was given to a photojournalist. He has also been nominated twice for a Pulitzer award by Reuters North America – once for a picture from the 1985 Heysel Stadium soccer riot, and once for a picture of Mikhail and Raisa Gorbachev at the completion of the Reagan/Gorbachev Summit in Reykjavik, Iceland in 1986. Nick was Photo Chief for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, is an instructor at Nikon School USA, a digital image consultant and continues to work as a freelance photographer.

Anthony Edgar

Anthony Edgar

Anthony Edgar started his media career in newspapers with News Limited, Australia, in 1984 and went on to work with numerous lifestyle, sport and youth magazines, including Playboy, Marketing Magazine, Tracks, Waves and Volleyball Magazine. Following the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games, Anthony joined the Sport Department of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Organising Committee, where he was responsible for all sport copy, publications and imagery. He moved to Switzerland in 2001 to work as press officer for the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), and from there joined the IOC in 2002, where as Head of Media Operations he is responsible for coordinating the delivery of media facilities and services at the Olympic Games. On a daily basis, Anthony works closely with National Olympic Committees, International Federations and the major news organizations worldwide.
