Transport Arrangements for Spectators for the Opening Ceremony of the 1st Winter Youth Olympic Games Innsbruck 2012

Bergisel Stadium Innsbruck, 13th Janurary 2012

Spectators travelling to the Opening Ceremony of the 1st Winter Youth Olympic Games 2012 are advised that:

  • There is no public car parking at Bergisel Stadium or in the surrounding area.
  • Significant Traffic restrictions are in place around the Stadium and Police will not permit cars into the area around the Stadium.
  • Brenner Strasse (B182) is closed 18:30 – 21:00
  • Travel to the Opening Ceremony by foot or public transport only!
  • Your Ceremony Ticket is valid as a travel pass 1,5 hours before the start o fand 1,5 hours after the end oft he event on all public buses, trams and nightliner buses
  • Transport Options from Innsbruck:

    From Main Train Station take tram line No. 1 or the STB tram arriving at Haltestelle Stubaitalbahnhof (outside the IVB Bus Depot and adjacent to the Cementry). From this point it is a 1200 meter walk to the Stadium. The walking path will be defined for specators.

Return travel from the Opening Ceremony

From Tramline station Stubaitalbahnhof trams will operate through the city/town centre to Mühlauer Brücke and line STB to the Main Train Station.

There will be plenty of Trams scheduled, however, due to expected high demand some waiting time will occur at peak times.

originates from Landesmuseum and will be supplemented to meet additional demand.

Tramline STB

originates from the Main Train Station from 15:47 until the commencement of the Opening Ceremony.
