Youth Olympic Games 13-22 January

Innsbruck Exhibition Centre

Disciplines: Curling; Volunteer Centre, Main Operations Centre (MOC)

It was in 1893 that the first ever Tyrolean regional expo took place at the Innsbruck Exhibition Centre, with the main focus on agriculture. Following the creation of the ‘Innsbrucker Messegesellschaft’ expo authority in 1923, the trade show industry went on to experience a boom which continues today. The current most popular events hosted by the Innsbruck Exhibition Centre include the fafga Trade Fair for Catering and the Hotel Business, the Innsbruck Autumn Fair and the Wine Fair.

In 2004, the Innsbruck Exhibition Centre and Congress Innsbruck joined forces, leading to the renovation of the 40,000 sqm complex in January 2010. Ready just in time for the 1st Winter Youth Olympic Games, the all-new exhibition centre fulfils all the prerequisites to host an exciting Olympic curling tournament. The venue will also house both the Main Operations Centre and the Volunteer Centre, which will provide logistical support and refreshments to the 1,200 Games Volunteers.
